Never one to be outdone, Google is doubling down on its educations efforts today, and it's recruited Acer to the cause.
With Apple strongly predicted to debut new, low-priced iPads with Apple Pencil support at tomorrow's education-themed event, Google has today unveiled its first ever Chrome OS tablet. Tasked with writing out math equations to upload to Google Classroom, the students grabbed their new tablets from the cart, pulled out the stylus, and logged into Chrome. The Chromebook Tab 10 is designed for collaboration, while Acer notes a portable design with a textured back in cobalt blue. Thick bezels surround a 9.7 LED-backlit display with 2048 x 1536 resolution for a PPI of 264. The tablet will support multiple user sign-in, meaning that it can be shared among various students throughout the day, with each student's information saved to Google Drive. This IPS panel supports an included Wacom EMR stylus that does not need a battery and can be seamlessly inserted into the tablet for storage.
The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 will be aimed at K-12 classrooms, and the Taiwanese tech giant will be hoping to emulate the success of Chromebooks in US classrooms with a different form factor. With products from Google and Microsoft dominating classrooms these days, the fight for the education market is Google's to lose, so it's comes as little surprise that we're seeing it go on the offensive before Apple can even make its announcement.

The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 will cost $329 and will be sold in the educational and commercial realms across North America from April, while it will land in Europe and other markets in May for €329.
Many, including The Verge, believe that Apple will announce an even-lower-cost iPad at tomorrow's event.
