Danny Amendola, the ex-Patriots receiver whose late touchdown catches against Jacksonville put New England in the Super Bowl a few months back, is expected to sign with the Dolphins. He's coming off a decent 2017 regular season where he had 61 catches for 659 receiving yards and two touchdowns. No terms on the deal have been reported.
Originally signed in 2013 and viewed as a replacement for Wes Welker in the Patriots offense, Amendola found stiff competition for that role in Julian Edelman, who emerged as one of Tom Brady's top options.
Amendola, 32, averaged 46 receptions and 477 yards over the last five seasons with New England.
