Donald Tusk warns Ireland must come first in Brexit talks

He said: "We are committed to playing our part in exploring this option or alternative specific solutions in a way that respects the structure of these negotiations".
This is a contradiction according to the EU, which has argued before that the border on the Irish Isle can only be kept open if either the entire United Kingdom or at least Northern Ireland de facto stay in the EU single market and customs union.
"That will of course require further detailed progress to be put forward by the UK Government".
