Despite playing the majority of the season with just seven scholarship athletes after injuries to four players, the Notre Dame women's basketball team earned a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the 8th time in school history.

Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State and Notre Dame followed UConn in the poll. The Huskies remained ideal, winning the American Athletic Conference championship Tuesday night.
