A high-ranking North Korean official appears to be visiting Beijing, sources close to the matter said on Monday.
Kyodo News said that a vehicle with a diplomatic license plate of the North Korean Embassy was spotted Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing amid tight security.
Details about the despot's trip - including how long he would stay and whom he would meet - were not immediately available, according to three sources who spoke to Bloomberg News.
The news agency said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said she was "unware of the situation" when asked about reports of such an arrival, and that Japanese channel footage "showed what an announcer described as a green train carriage with yellow horizontal lines, part of a 21-car train, similar to the kind that Kim's late father, Kim Jong Il, rode when he visited Beijing in 2011".
