Raniere, the leader of the so-called self improvement group Nxivm, is accused of using women to recruit sex slaves for him as part of a secret society called "DOS" or "The Vow", according to the federal complaint against him.

Raniere left the United States previous year after The New York Times reported some women who joined a secret sorority within his Albany-based group were branded with a symbol that included his initials.

"Thank you to all of the fearless women who have come forward to share your stories and expose DOS", she wrote, referring to the name of the all-women, Nxivm "sorority" where in more recent years, the feds say, women would be extorted into having sex with Raniere and forcibly branded with his and Mack's initials.

Mack was with Raniere in Puerto Vallarta at the time of his arrest. The actress, along with other women, can be heard saying they are going to get in a vehicle and follow the cops.

Raniere is now in federal custody and if convicted faces up to life in prison after being charged with sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit forced labour. Meanwhile, in 2010, Vanity Fair published an in depth-look at Sara and Clare Bronfman's involvement with Nxivm and Raniere, which reportedly cost the Seagram liquor heiresses around $150 million.

Mack's website says that she and Raniere co-created The Source with "a small group of equally skilled and dedicated professionals". I left about five years ago and had minimal contact with those who were still involved.
