Adam Yates times attack to perfection to win Stage 5
In the 153-kilometre-long sixth stage of the race, from Numany to Fano, on Monday, Germany's Marcel Kittel came first with a time of 3:49.54, while Slovakia's Peter Sagan came second, despite a crash which slowed him down near Fano, and Argentina's Maximiliano Richeze came third, both with the same time as Kittel.
Team Sky's Michal Kwiatkowski secured overall victory at Tirreno-Adriatico following the final stage time trial.
With 8km remaining, a lack of concentration saw Gaviria cross wheels with teammate and lead out man Max Richeze causing him to crash hard taking down around a dozen riders in the process.
Sagan was also involved in the crash, siting directly on the wheel of Gaviria, yet miraculously managed to stay upright, finishing second on the stage.
Kittel's other stage win was for the sprinters on Thursday. "Caruso is such a good time triallist and he is racing in his home, Italy", said Kwiatkowski. "I'm very proud of the team".

Geraint Thomas, who led the race before losing time and with it his leader's jersey during Saturday's stage, again endured bad luck on the road after puncturing in the closing kilometres.
