How Fired Directors Lord and Miller Will Be Credited on 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'
They'll be flanked by an entire ensemble of A-list talent (more on that later), and we're now learning that Emilia Clarke's character, one described as an old-school femme fatale, can be traced back to the Legends series, which itself was originally referred to as the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The directors were quickly replaced with old school pro Ron Howard.

According to this source, the production of Solo was "chaotic" under Lord and Miller's tenure, as the filmmakers would typically shoot "more than 30 takes" of a given scene.
One of the most surprising reveals from the source is the confirmation that the script remained exactly the same, even after Lord and Miller left.
However, unlike the reshoots on 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that involved an uncredited Tony Gilroy writing new dialogue and directing entirely new sequences (including the climactic battle), the additional photography on Solo is said to consist of scene-for-scene do-overs of things previously shot. However, it's clear that that type of freedom doesn't really gel with Disney and Lucasfilm, who have a very specific, rigid way of approaching these films. This news was picked up on following a recent job posting by EA on their job site, where they publicly announced that they are now in need of a "Lead Online Engineer" who can provide "online features for a Star Wars open-world project".
