Garrett Jacobs sings"Treat You Better on American Idol 2018 Top 24
Good-looking Garrett Jacobs was game for dance lessons with Bobby Bones, but bit off a bigger song than he could chew with Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better". The singer performed a duet of "Angel In Blue Jeans" with Pat Monahan.
Caleb Lee Hutchinson is being paired with Bebe Rexha and he'll be stepping out of his comfort zone here as he's paired with a pop artist. Though Effie was nervous about singing country music, she belted the tune just fine, but fell short of making the cut. He is one of my favorites in this competition.
Ada Vox soared on her duet with Glee actress Lea Michele to "Defying Gravity" from the Broadway musical Wicked. The 19-year-old revealed he dropped 70 pounds since auditioning for the reality singing competition and the results are paying off. Lea is the ideal celebrity mentor for Ada. The judges give Ada and Lea a rightfully earned standing ovation. Ron talks about his nerves and forgetting the words and playing his guitar. Maddie's approach to the duet also showed maturity and respect, and Lionel appreciated how comfortable and relaxed the contestant appeared onstage. Ron sounds a little shaky in the beginning. "I mean, we watch this room go "well, holy uh, ok" unbelievable". Bryan called her "one of the best singers we have", while Perry advised her to own her talent and "jump into the stardust". "A star is born", he said when the song was over. Lionel can be seen saying "wow" when Shannon sings with Cam. Shannon is the definite dark horse in this competition if she makes it to the next round.
"Me and her hit it off really well", Hutchinson said.
Next is Alyssa Raghu and Banners singing Coldplay's "Yellow".
Last night's American Idol episode featured the 12 contestants performing with either Lea Michele, Allen Stone, Cam, Banners, Bebe Rexha, or Colbie Caillat. Keep this side of you going Alyssa. Katy tells the teenager that she finally found her center.

Mara Justine had her own surprise for everyone watching. The harmony was handsome.
Effie Passero slayed Heart's "Barracuda", impressing the judges with her "flawless" vocals. "The sky is the limit for you", Lionel says. WOW!
