Cardi B deletes Instagram as Azealia Banks feud escalates

In the wake of a public roasting from fellow rapper Azealia Banks, Cardi B has deleted her Instagram account and made her Twitter private.

Banks appeared on a USA radio show Friday, reportedly labelling the rapper as an "untalented rat" and a "caricature of a black woman".

Asked to explain herself during an interview with US radio show The Breakfast Club, Banks referenced Beyoncé's 2016 album Lemonade, which Banks claimed had marked an "all-time high" in the "conversation surrounding black women's culture".

Tammy doesn't just talk about peacemaking between women...she's been about that life.

Things began after Banks dissed Cardi over her spelling and grammar on "The Breakfast Club" Friday and a heated online exchange ensued.

"This s- getting real bad every day on social media all you see is United States calling each other FAT, UGLY, BIG NOSE, DUMB, HOES, BLACK (as if that's an insult)", she continued in the caption.

Cardi B fired back on Twitter before deactivating the account but also had a lengthier response on her Instagram page.

"I'm from the hood I speak how I speak I am how I am.I did not choose to be famous people chose me!"

Cardi also commented on a post including the video of Azealia saying "I'm not apologizing or killing myself because of who I am". I did not choose to be famous people choose me! One person who posted the video wrote that the owner of the boutique emptied the store so that Cardi B could shop in peace but now the Invasion of Privacy rapper is calling that statement bogus. "I find it so amusing how you be on my DMs, [trying to] get close but you be doing shady sh*t", Cardi said in a DM.

"Just because I mix a few words up, forget to use commas or misspell a few words doesn't make me illiterate and doesn't make me stupid", she said. "This is coming from a woman that bleached her skin but want to advocate".

If that weren't enough, Cardi B was apparently involved in an altercation sometime over the weekend. When asked about her previous criticism on Cardi, she said: "It's very concerning" to her that "this conversation surrounding black women's culture" has changed.

Several security personnel are on the scene as well with two other men in plainclothes holding a woman back from entering the door that Cardi is arguing through.

Cardi appeared to be ushered away from the drama and into the shop by a host of security guards.
