Fairfield father of 10 accused of child abuse: 'I'm the Indiana Jones of spirituality'
Solano County prosecutors included the horrific details in a motion to increase the bail for Rogers, who was charged with nine counts of felony child abuse.
Rogers, 31, is set to be in court Wednesday morning when prosecutors will ask Judge William J. Pendergast III to amend the misdemeanor charge Rogers faces to include the new felony charges.
A Northern California woman denied that she or her husband abused their 10 children after authorities said the kids suffered puncture wounds, burns, bruising and injuries consistent with being shot with a pellet gun. Sharon Henry, the county's chief deputy district attorney, said they were tortured "for sadistic purposes". When she was later asked why all 10 children slept in a single room while the other bedrooms were used as the parents' quarters, a "meditation room" and a playroom, Rogers replied that the children liked it that way.
Rogers told KABC-TV that she and her husband were being judged for his tattoos, and her choice to homeschool her children. Allen, a year younger than Rogers, is the father of eight of the children, she said. Allen's bail is set at more than$5 million.
Magney was coming home from church one day at the end of March, he said, and found Rogers "running around the neighborhood" in search of her 12-year-old.
Stories about the alleged abuse came out gradually in interviews with the children over the past six weeks and eight of the children told professionals about incidents dating back several years, authorities said.
Deputy District Attorney Veronica Juarez wrote that Rogers assisted in the abuse of the children by her husband, Jonathan Allen.
She told NBC: "Jonathan worships the devil".

All 10 children were placed into the care of the Solano County Child Welfare office. She first got pregnant when she was 16, she said, and had been with Rogers for the last 10 years, and they both wanted a large family. "So I said, "OK how am I going to do this with all these kids?" "There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing".
The matter unfolded March 31 when the oldest child, a 12-year-old boy described as developmentally delayed with the capacity of an 8-year-old, disappeared from his house in the 2000 block of Fieldstone Court.
Allen's mother, Peggy Allen, told the AP she had spoken to her son about the importance of housekeeping and Christian values - but that Allen avoided her and kept his relatives away from the children.
The mother, 30-year Ina Rogers had been arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for child neglect but later released.
"The truth is that it is a functioning household", he said.
