Report: Exploding vape pen blamed for Florida man's death
A similar issue happened a year later in Idaho with a father losing nine teeth and suffering second-degree burns after a vape pen exploded in his mouth.
Explosions involving vape pens are uncommon, but faulty devices have been the subject of a handful of media report in recent years. Tallmadge "Wake" D'Elia's official cause of death, which is the first e-cigarette fatality in the USA, was listed as "projectile wound of the head" and ruled accidental.
